Top Five Effective Exercises for a Healthy Heart and Longer Life

In this article, we will be revealing the top five heart-healthy exercises to ensure you have a great healthy heart.

It may seem intimidating to read an article about exercise, however I assure you that you don’t need to be a hardcore athlete to boost your heart health. It’s true that moderate exercise can improve your heart health and reduce the risk of other chronic illnesses while increasing increasing endurance flexibility and strength.

Listen, any amount of physical activity is good for your overall health, however today I’m going to talk about the top five exercises for heart health. You can couple these with regular yoga exercises, to get a full, relaxing yet powerful exercise routine.

Aerobic or cardiovascular activity is any exercise that increases your heart rate and challenges your heart to become stronger as your heart becomes stronger and everyday activities will become easier – think no more huffing and puffing up that flight of stairs – although any exercise is good for your heart, today I’m going to talk about the top five.

Brisk walking

The human body was born to walk. One of my favourite exercises for a healthy heart, is to hit the road or the treadmill and pick a pace that allows you to push yourself.

All you need is a pair of supportive, comfortable shoes. Running is more challenging than walking, however another exercise your body is made to do.

Running is one of the best ways to burn calories. You can work up to running by running for one to two minutes for every five minutes of brisk walking, and then slowly increase the minutes you run as you become stronger.

Swimming

The pool is no longer just for floating. Swimming is a full-body exercise, whether you are swimming laps, are participating in a fitness class. You will raise your heart rate and improve your heart health.

The water provides resistance to improve strength and tone muscle swimming is low-impact which is a safe alternative if you have joint problems.

Circuit training

Are you bored with the same aerobic exercises? You can mix it up for example every three minutes of cardio do one strength training exercise or high-intensity cardio for one minute.

Cycling

This is another low-impact exercises for a healthy heart that is easy on your joints. Cycling can be done at the gym, in a spin class or outdoors on the open road or trails try running your errands on your bike or bike torque.

I find a cycle down to the shops or park with the children in tow is a great way to catch a few minutes of exercise in a fun way.

That’s our exercises for a healthy heart

Well there you have it – our top five favourite exercises for a healthy heart. Don’t forget that experts recommend doing at least 150 minutes of activity each week and or 75 minutes of vigorous activity weekly.

You can choose how to spread this activity out with what works for your schedule. Just remember that the key is actually doing it. Before starting a new exercise plan, always be sure to talk to your doctor to make sure the fitness plan is appropriate for your age, health and fitness condition.

Good luck making it a habit to include exercises for a healthy heart every day or a few times a week!
